"GoDaddy.com doesn’t outsource a single job. Wayne liked the fact that GoDaddy.com is first and foremost an American company. With one minor exception, GoDaddy develops all of the technology it provides its customers right here in America by Americans. We don’t out-source a single job overseas, and all of our over one thousand customer service representatives are located right here in the USA – all in Arizona, in fact." - How refreshing. Bob Parsons about mid-way through Our 2nd Super Bowl Ad Rejected by CBS..... what a gimmik he's got going with the commercials.

Idol still a bit too weighted to the train wrecks tonight but we are starting to see the infectious quality that those new to it are missing. Now if we could just get them to show us at least half of those they put through things would be great.

Or how about Sportsmart and Sports Authority becoming Sports Authority ? One of these had obviously better quality merchandise but the winner ends up the company with the lesser products. I just want to buy a decent winter coat and I used to be able to walk into a sport store or two, look over the selection and away we go. Now the sports stores have all consolidated the their selection is pathetic. Or pathetic and over priced to be more accurate. Argh. I now have two stores within 2 miles of each other filled with the exact same krappy product. Why bother ? just drop one of them so that we might hope some small company might fill the hole they've now created.

Commodity vs. Craft ? I find that most everything now days is commoditized by some MBA or the good companies with good products get bought by the commoditizing companies and driven in the ground (ie. Lands End has irked me most lately) I found the commodity vs. craft discussion here Moleskine Notebooks and othe wonders of the Boutique Era interesting. I wrestle regularly with, what ever happened to companies that make money because they make a great product ?
